About

Ongoing: March 1989 - Present

Dominic Markes is a photographer and sound artist from south London.

He specialises in mixed-media projects that centre on English folklore and culturally significant gatherings.

Using primarily a camera and an audio recorder to creatively capture the fleeting moments and evolving energies of an event, Dominic’s personal work explores themes of (collective) identity, belonging and connectedness.

His work has been shortlisted for the IPA International Photography Award, and British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Humanity, and commissioned by Columbia Records, Google and War Child to name a few.

He is available for commissions, portraits and projects on a global scale.

Peace sign, Dominic Markes, crouching
