Notting Hill Carnival is the largest annual street party in Europe, hosting more than 2 million revellers across two days. Deriving from and strongly rooted in Caribbean culture, there is a parade consisting of Mas Bands, Steel Pan Bands, Soca and Calypso trucks, as well as live stages and static sound systems all across the west London district. Dating back to 1966, it was voted onto the list of 'icons of England' in 2006.
